Flu is Here

We don't hang out with groups of people. We don't put ourselves in crowds. We don't go to concerts or movies or plays. Even waiting for an Animal-style hamburger at In-N-Out, we noticed that there were two people coughing. I left and waited for Michael to bring our food outside.

We are careful. Overly careful. It is now officially the flu season.

It could kill me.

What we can't control is Michael's environment at work. He has contact with the general public. He drives other people's cars with their gems on the steering wheels and the seat belts. He washes his hands constantly. He never shakes hands. But, there are now people at work who currently have the flu.

We are depending on the flu vaccine and lots of hand washing to keep it at bay.

In the local news, a 23-year old healthy young man who thought he had pneumonia, died yesterday.

Get vaccinated. Wash your hands. Stay away from crowds. Get through the season.
