Into the Crowds

Suddenly, it is really Fall. The fog is in this morning, the ground is wet from the mist all night and my plants are so very happy. I spent over four hours working in the garden under the warm sunshine yesterday. I trimmed all four of the huge hydrangeas in preparation of their new growth. The garden recycle bin is full once again.

We got a notice that our street will be closed from 9-4:30 on Wednesday for the final surfacing of the street. The only problem is, all the access streets will also be closed either Tuesday or Wednesday. In other words, we will not have access both days. That will be a challenge!

Yesterday, Michael went over the pass to get some of his own work done and tried to drive home around 3:30. He arrived at 5:15. He had to take the long way through the redwoods but hit a massive jam on the coast highway. He snuck through an area unknown to tourists and was able to save about thirty-minutes of traffic. We stood together in the garden while I watered (we can only water after 5PM because of the drought) and chatted about our day before dinner. I was snoring before 8PM.

We will be together all day today. We will work our way into town for the Pumpkin Festival this morning, run into thousands of people, we always seem to bump into old friends, pumpkin rolls will be eaten then we will hang out with Mark's family for a bit. They adore Michael and want to meet me.

Happy Sunday.
