So many unexpected things happened yesterday. I had planned for my boring day, cut the grass in the afternoon and was in the shower when Michael peered about the bathroom door at 3:00. I jumped a mile!
After drying off and dressing, we hopped into the car and drove over the hill into some much needed sunshine. Michael wanted to buy some simple t-shirts and a new hoodie. After a quick run through H&M, he bought five t-shirts, one polo shirt and a new pretty blue hoodie for a grand total of $80.00. What a deal!
I have not mentioned that our 18-year old white stove/oven stopped working. We knew it was failing but it finally gave up last week. After H&M, we went to a discount appliance place and bought a stainless gas stove/convection oven at a terrific price. We have been talking about also replacing our white refrigerator and negotiated the price for both, which was about $800.00 less than if we had bought the two separately. Done. They both are to be delivered after our holiday trip. Next, we save for a new stainless hood and microwave. There is always something!
It was past dinner time so we stopped at a terrific BBQ place that we NEVER go to because it is soooo good and soooo expensive. We split some ribs, cole slaw and Michael had some Mac 'N Cheese.
The drive home over the pass took us into an undulating wave of fog but thankfully we were late enough to miss all the rush hour traffic. Easy.
So not the boring day I had expected!
