It was very humid in Raleigh, North Carolina yesterday. It kept threatening to rain and the air was very heavy. We went for a walk in downtown Apex and I found I had to take it a bit slower than usual. Humidity. We just don't have to deal with it where we live.
We hung out in Christien's beautiful home before having lunch at a pit BBQ place ironically named "The Pit." Pit BBQ. Also something we just don't have near our home. The place was packed with people celebrating college graduations as Raleigh is surrounded by three major universities and a couple of others. It was Christien's daughter's birthday so she also was in Raleigh celebrating. We met, wandered through stores before finding a spot for a bit of bourbon for Michael. It was a place called "Foundation ." They actually dug out underneath a building and built this very cool, almost feeling like a speakeasy, kind of place. The music was Sinatra to Ray Charles and perfect. We sat for well over an hour.
Home again, we had a late dinner of leftovers before heading to bed very late for us.
Mother's Day! We both will be phoning our mothers and William mentioned he would be phoning his old mom. Christien's daughter will be with us today, we are going to the amazing Raleigh farmers market and really have no other plans. Except for a shower this morning. It has been a relaxing time here in Christien's world.
