The Bourbon Trail

There is no more bourbon in the state of Kentucky! It is stashed in every nook and cranny of the Porsche. Michael is one happy man. It has been an adventure.

The Bourbon Trail. A group of distilleries who will stamp your Bourbon Trail passport in exchange for a t-shirt that proclaims to the world that you conquered the trail. Michael set the goal to get 7 of the 8 needed stamps on this trip. We hit 4 on Wednesday and even went by an additional one on Thursday. We only needed one more! The t-shirts were in sight! Then...foiled! While planning the trip, I laid out the best routes between distilleries. It involved a lot of driving back roads. Guess it was easier to hide from the government men plus they needed to be near the distinctive limestone water sources. Lots of driving. It came down to Evan Williams distillery. Our last one. One final stamp. We were exhausted. It was minutes from our hotel in Lexington. We searched. We couldn't find it! I hauled out the web site information I had copied and discovered it was in LOUISVILLE, about 90-minutes away!

All I will say is that I am married to a very good man. Without skipping a beat, he said, "Maybe we can mail the passports to our new friends Joanne and Jeff and they can get our final stamp." That is the plan, thanks to them.

I have great stories to tell about several magical experiences but they can wait until I am home and can post photos.

William was stuck at the Newark airport, almost like a bad movie. He was flying to St. Louis to do a radio show with the group now playing large arenas. His flight was cancelled due to fog and he was waiting 7 hours for the next flight, which he also expected to be cancelled. A nightmare. We don't know if he ever made it.

We are now with Christien in Raleigh, No. Carolina. More adventures to come!
