I thought I would give you, dear reader, an update regarding my rehab boys:
Sherman did finally see Barbara. They hugged and gave each other a kiss on the cheek. So cute to watch! We got her laughing and feeling pretty good. She has been coming to the rehab class regularly.
At Christmas, I received an amazingly sweet card from Sherman. We had talked about how much he hated looking for cards, as he wanted to fine just the one perfect one. I knew the time and effort that went into the sweet one he sent to me. When I saw him after Christmas, I thanked him. I was very touched.
Dick, who I just found out is 77-years old, is having some health issues with his wife. She has been more housebound this past year and uses a motorized chair when they travel. They love going to the casinos and her chair gives him the ability to wander on his own. She has refused rehab to build her muscles so she can be more mobile.
He just shared with me that she has a rotator cuff problem, which might require surgery but needs a MRI for that determination. She is too scared to have one so she doesn’t want the surgery. He, on the other hand, wants to get on with life. He has places to go and things to see. He is not happy with her decision. If she decides not to have the surgery, he is going to make plans to travel with some of his buddies and his children. He is so ready.
I wonder if Michael ever feels the same way.
