It is pre-dawn. We are beginning our 800+ mile trip to see our son in Seattle to celebrate Michael's 60th birthday. We are sipping coffee before hitting the road. It is going to be a long day.
Yesterday was our 39th Anniversary. Still seems amazing to me. We went to a Tyler Florence restaurant in the city where he himself allowed us to order from the dinner, not lunch, menu. We couldn't get any later reservations so....Anyway, out came delicious popovers with whipped butter that was salted and delicious. This was followed by a huge bowl of ice with Maine lobster, huge cold prawns, a variety of oysters and tuna tartar. I also ordered a side of eggplant that was spicy and the best I have ever eaten.
We also had a Tyler Florence sighting in his plaid flannel shirt and jeans looking a bit chunkier than expected.
So, off we go. Road trip!
