It had been along week. We tried to find some warmth and sun on Saturday as it was to get colder on Sunday. It was a major surprise to discover that it was warm enough by 9AM Sunday to open up the entire house. An airing. After lunch, I sat in the sun and let it warm my bones. It felt heavenly while all the stress of the week disappeared. After Michael got home, he joined me. There was a lot of silence while we just relaxed.
Earlier, the phone rang. It was Michael's dad. Grant. If you want the background to see why this was so extraordinary, read these:

Michael wasn't home yet so I had to chat with him. I kept it light. Suddenly, the call waiting beep happened and I just knew it was Michael. I asked Grant to hold, Michael was calling to let me know he was on his way home and I told him who was on the other line. His response, "Good luck with that!" Gee, thanks!
Back to Grant, more of a chat then I told him that Michael would phone him when he got home. Michael arrived home, grabbed a cocktail and cigar and headed into the sunshine. He was not ready to talk with his dad. About two hours later, he returned the call. Grant was not home but returned the call a bit later. They had been to dinner.
Grant told him that he finally received his medals from his time in Vietnam including a Bronze Medal. Only took forty years. They talked about his health and a medical problem of his wife Joanne, whom we adore. They really talked about nothing. It was just a connection. Why? Maybe it was the upcoming Father's Day. Maybe it was the eclipse of the moon. Who knows?
I guess there was an airing in both houses.
